It’s a common misconception that dogs don’t have a memory. They absolutely do. And your dog will definitely remember you when it’s time to come home.
But one of the cool things about dogs is that they live in the ‘here and now’. They don’t dwell on the past, and they don’t dwell on what may become in the future. Wouldn’t it be great if we could be like that?
What that means for your dog, though, is that when he or she gets immersed around my dogs, my home, and in our routine your dog won’t forget you. But he or she will definitely be having a good time in training sessions, play, walks, and excursions. And your dog will live in that moment.
When your dog comes to our Board and Train he or she will be like a member of the family. We aren’t like other companies where your dog goes off to a dirty boarding kennel. Instead, your dog sleeps where our dogs sleep, eats where our dogs eat, they learn to potty outside, not get on counters, not jump on guests, not respond to the doorbell, etc.

All of our dog training programs and tool selection are customized to the individual dog. Depending on the dog and training goals, we may recommend training collars such as electronic collars (e-collars) or prong collars (herm sprenger collars). While these tools can often get a bad reputation, when used correctly they can be extremely humane and effective in achieving your goals. In conjunction with tons of positive reinforcement and motivation they allow us to offer clear communication to the dog as to what we want and what we don’t want. We love dispelling dog training myths about dog training tool usage!

The exact length of dog training will vary depending on the specific dog and the specific, custom dog training goals we’ve set with the client, and are looking to achieve. However we can often start to see results during the first training session. For the quickest results our dog board and train program allows transformations within a few weeks, as our team of experienced trainers puts in the work to do the up front training for you. From there we teach you the tools and techniques you need to maintain the results with your dog.

Dogs of any age are capable of learning and therefore can be trained. We have trained with dogs who are 12 or 13 years old and their owners were super happy with the results we were able to achieve. With our customizable dog training programs we are able to create dog training systems to accommodate any special needs your dog may have.
