My wife and I put our two dogs into Joey's board and train program. We had a few areas we wanted Joey to work on; walking on leash, listening to commands, and no jumping.
The week we went to pick up the dogs we were wildly surprised! The dogs understood place commands, no jumping, walking on leash, walking off leash, coming when called, and basic obedience.
The training is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone. But what I was most satisfied with was Joey himself. Completely genuine, caring, and loves what he does. We actually had our follow up appointment recently, and our dogs loved seeing him again and greeted him with kisses!

I just want to thank you again for the incredible job you did with Foster. Foster was at Joeys house for a 2 week board and train. Before he went, Foster was high anxiety (he was getting Xanax for this), almost always squealed and pulled on the leash, fought with his younger brother, was always very sweet to people but had a very dominate personality. One thing I didn't mention is that Foster is 11 years old. 2 weeks at Joeys changed everything. Sense he has been back, he has been so calm and relaxed. The best word Joey taught both of us was "settle," it keeps both of us calm. He has not fought with his brother once, goes to his "place" when told to (pictured below), and even goes to his "bed" when told to. He now allows Dexter to play without him having a fear of a fight. He is even more cuddly and social with us then before.
Today was the best day. I took him on a walk and the dog that always used to squeal and jump and pull on the leash to the point my arm would hurt, did not do ANY of that. He now calmly lets me put the leash on, and we went for the best walk he has ever been on, I almost cried I was so happy. I wanted to take him longer but it was too cold, not something I would have ever wanted before. He was such a good boy! He walked directly right next to me on a loose leash the whole time without pulling once. I had never seen him like that before and it was amazing. Everyday he is showing what he learned and surprises us with his new behavior.
When he was away, Joey and Nicole made videos of his training so that we can look back as reference, and even took pictures of him when we were missing him, including him in a Santa hat by the Christmas tree. If you ever feel frustrated, or like there is nothing that can be done or your at your whits end, I would definitely recommend Joey Luke;s Dog Training, at any age...my dog is 11 and he is now the well behaved boy we have always known he could be and I am pretty sure he always wanted to be. Our only regret is not doing this earlier.
Thank you for everything!

I had never adopted a puppy from a rescue before, but decided to check into it after I lost my dog of 8yrs. I adopted a puppy from LDDR & really didn't know what to expect but wanted to give him a forever home. I managed to train him some as in potty training, sit, down & crate train him. He was easier to train with praise oppose to treats.
After a bad experience with another trainer I had been referred to Joey. I have to admit that I was not expecting a lot after what I had already been thru.
After the first session with Joey I was totally amazed!! He really cares about the puppy's & dogs, he has a true passion for what he does!! He goes above & beyond to teach the owner as well as the puppy/dog which is awesome!! Ceasar has nothing on Joey & I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for help to train their puppy/dog. I am not one to sugar coat anything, as a matter of fact it takes a lot to impress me, so for me to write a review says a lot about Joey's training. I have noticed how well Joey interacts with animals & how well they take to him.
I love my puppy more than I like most people, so for me to trust Joey with him is Huge!! I had gotten my last dog after I lost my husband & didn't realize he came from a puppy mill, I ended up losing him due to genetic defect. After all that I researched & decided to adopt a rescue puppy since there were so many that needed compassion & loving home. I don't regret it for a minute & Joey has helped us more than I can say.
Can't thank him enough for all he has done to help me & my puppy.

My husband and I found Joey on Facebook through an old friend who works with a dog rescue. Our golden retriever, Lacey, was around ten months old at this time. Being pregnant with baby number three I was very seriously considering rehoming our fur baby. She wasn't getting the attention and training needed from us, and she was too much to handle. I had truly talked to her vet about possibly being ADHD, which I didn't know dogs could actually be. We hired Joey for in home training sessions (4/1hour). He began working with us and Lacey in September. Lacey showed some potential during these sessions but she wasn't retaining like she should've been.
Lacey went to board and train with Joey (and Nicole) on December 2nd for 2.5 weeks. My husband and I didn't have high expectations for Lacey knowing how high energy she is at all times.
She came home to us on Sunday afternoon. She was a new dog. I figured I'd wait it out a couple days as she was probably just tired from her boarding school adventures. Monday morning, she was so good that our five year old (who truly can't stand her and her craziness) wrote her a sign for her crate that said "you were so good" and hung it up for her before we had to leave to run an errand. Now, again, she could've just been tired still.
This morning (Tuesday) was the real test: Lacey's groomer appointment at PetSmart. Seeing as Christmas is two days away, it was packed with doggies going to get prettied up. There were three walking into the store the same time as us. I told Lacey "leave it" with a correction when she began to run up to one in the parking lot. She listened immediately! She walked nice through the entire store and into the groomers spot. She normally jumps and pulls and is so excited she pees on the floor. Today, I told her "sit" with a correction, and "relax". She actually listened!
Another fur mom was waiting to check her dog in and said to me "I should've got a dog like that." Being caught off guard I laughed and said she just got back from boarding school. I'm surprised I didn't fall on the floor! She asked where we sent her, so I recommended Joey Luke's dog training, just like I would to all of you.
He truly knows and loves dogs. He has all the right tools and tactics for training your fur babies as well as yourself! I am so relieved that Lacey has learned (as have my husband and I) and she will forever be our furbaby! There are no more rehoming thoughts from these fur parents.
Thank you Joey and Nicole!!!

Joey did a board and train with our 10 (now 11) month old puppy, Stella!
We rescued her from the Humane Society at 8 months. Stella was so stubborn on walks by pulling on the leash, reacting towards other dogs on walks, and not coming when called. We felt like we never could take her on walks because it was embarrassing and it became very frustrating. Stella needed to learn some manners!
We received Joey’s name from our neighbors who used him and only had great things to say. Joey came out to our house for a training, and we ended up doing a month board & train.
Stella came back today and was a different dog! The results were incredible! Stella is now getting used to our commands and we know that will take time. But, we could not believe how peaceful it was to walk with her. It literally was like night and day.
We thank you SO much Joey for helping us with that. Not only have you trained Stella but you have educated us, made us feel comfortable, and now we feel in control. Joey has a passion for dogs and you can tell the connection he made with our puppy, Stella! That in itself made us feel much more comfortable and we could tell Stella was sad to see Joey back out of our driveway!
Joey has assured us that he will continue to communicate with us and be there to support us! We would highly recommend him to anyone!
Thank you for everything, Joey!!

Spencer has gone from a growling, aggressive, anxious beast to a well-behaved (well, most of the time) fur friend in a matter of 6 weeks. Joey is so perceptive when it comes to animal and human behavior. He quickly and accurately identified Spencer’s issues, connected them to our reactions and was able to guide us, patiently and positively, to modify our behavior. Spencer also had issues with passing people and dogs in the park.
Having Joey along on our walks was an invaluable way to learn how to allay Spencer’s anxiety with other dogs. Joey has taught us the importance of being a strong pack leader and has given us the tools to become that leader. His passion for dogs is obvious. He loves helping people build a positive relationship with their dog. He’s a wonderful guy. I was sorry to see our sessions come to an end but when you train with Joey, he’s always just a phone call away.

We have a 7 y/o lab/poodle mix. She is anxious and very protective of her family. This caused her to develop some bad habits like barking at the window, barking at people and barking and lunging at other dogs when on a walk.
We've had 2 training session/walks with Joey so far and the confidence I feel and my dog's relaxation on our walks now is amazing. We used to avoid walking by certain houses because the dogs in the yard would go crazy. On our second walk with Joey we purposely went by one of those houses! I was a bit nervous, but in just minutes Joey had my dog sitting calmly on the sidewalk and the 2 crazy dogs also sitting in their yard and listening to him! My dog and I can now walk by that house with confidence!
We've also stopped the window barking with the proper exercise and discipline. Yeah! Joey is a very professional and confident trainer who you can tell loves his job and most importantly loves dogs!

Joey trained my 1-year-old dog, Oliver. Oliver is very hyper and would pull on the leash during our walks, reacting, jumping, and barking at everything that moved. Joey trained Oliver in his two week board and train program and the results are incredible! Oliver is still his rambunctious self but responds to commands, is much more focused on me on our walks, and seems like a much happier, healthy dog. What's more, I personally feel much more comfortable, educated, and in control thanks to Joey! Joey was very communicative while he had Oliver and continues to be supportive now. He is very positive, knowledgeable, and assured me that I could call anytime in the future if I needed more support. Thanks for everything, Joey!
